Reason #18: Grow an Emergency Fund

Planning for the unexpected…. brings more security than you might expect!

Do you have an “emergency fund”? In your business or personal finances?

Even if an emergency never happens…having the peace of mind, self control and safety net of a little nest egg can actually help you meet your bigger financial goals.

When you truly believe there is “enough” money, that money is abundant and all around you — it sets up your mindset to be more open to opportunities, make smart financial decisions, even plan & dream for your successful future!

We don’t have an emergency fund for doom and gloom — we have for prosperity and abundance.

Being a chiropractor and/or an entrepreneur often comes with flexibility and many rewards — but the downside may be the fear of the unknown. Take health insurance as an example — no bigger headache than choosing a “health” or “medical” plan to never need it — but when you do, you do! It’s piece of mind. It’s an expense, yes, but without it brings so many hard decisions.

I remember when our kids were babies — we had a high deductible plan. Our kiddo got dehydrated and needed an IV. At a children’s hospital. 36 hours and $8,000 later… our very sick baby was all better. Did finances affect our timing and health decisions? Sure did!! We knew we had the emergency fund and the means to replenish it.

I recommend 1-3 months of expenses stowed away for that rainy day. ☔️
