Yes, I opted to go BOLD with this reason to implement Profit First — and honestly I could re-write my entire blog just centered around this topic.

Planning for maternity “leave” is stressful no matter what your job is.

If you own your business and are the sole provider — what happens to your business if/when you decide to grow your family?

If you are an employee - how do I have conversations with my boss about maternity leave? Will I have paid leave? Will I be forced to come back “early” or lose my job?

If you are an employer - have you encountered this yet with your employees — from support staff to associate providers? What benefits should you be prepared to offer and how do you protect your assets/investments if your employee decides not to come back?

And for the first time mom over there going… how in the world can I think about work right now when I have to care for this tiny human now?! Will I want to go back? Can I? Do I have to???

Listen, I’ve been there. I’ve had alllll the feels about this entire topic — and how ingrained it is in our society to leave this burden to moms on a tiny island all by themselves.
